BD-Live 2.0 Ready

BD-Live technology will enable you to connect this player to the Internet to download such data as additional scenes, shorts, trailers, and to join in multi-player interactive games that are linked to BD bonus content contained in Blu-ray discs. This player offers an Ethernet port, 1GB built-in memory, and (2) USB 2.0 ports for easy access to BD-Live content.

Blu-ray Disc Features

Blu-ray discs offers picture quality beyond anything available, with full capability 1080p HD resolution in Blu-ray and up to 40Mbps, encoding 5-10X the capacity of regular DVDs. It also features theater-quality uncompressed audio (supporting 8 channels of Liner PCM), up to 32 streams of audio, interactive capability, seamless menus, integrated games, hi-def bonus and educational features.

HDMI (v 1.3) Output with 1080p HD Video Upconversion

This unit features an HDMI Version 1.3 output that's capable of upconverting video signals to 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. This is achieved by utilizing an ultra high bandwidth digital-to-analog conversion and processing to detect image changes at the pixel level. The BD-P3600 supports the following video signals: 480i/60Hz, 480p/60Hz, 720p/60Hz, 1080i/60Hz, and 1080p/60Hz/24Hz. It's capable of reproducing high-quality video imagery with sharp backgrounds, while eliminating motion artifacts from moving objects within the video frame.

The HDMI connection is also CEC enabled, allowing all compatible CEC components (i.e., television and receiver) in the system to communicate with each other. Enjoy the ability to control multiple HDMI components with a single remote control.

WiFi Wireless Ready

Now you can enjoy wireless access to the latest Blu-ray features. When connected to the USB port of the BD-P3600, the included WiFi wireless dongle enables you to connect to the Internet via an optional wireless IP sharer.

Netflix Streaming Capability

Enjoy the ability to choose from 12,000 movies and TV episodes from Netflix (with optional subscription) for instant viewing without a disc; or easily listen to Internet Radio via Pandora (with optional subscription). Pandora provides digital music personalized to your particular taste.

Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD Decoding

If you have a 7.1-channel home theater receiver - you're in luck - this player is capable of decoding Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD audio. Dolby Digital Plus uses less compression than regular Dolby Digital to reproduce fuller and more dynamic sound effects with up to eight discrete channels of surround sound. In addition, it features a 7.1-channel discrete audio output as an alternative to the optical digital audio output.

DTS-HD Master Audio and High-Resolution Audio

It offers both DTS-HD Master Audio and High-Resolution technologies. DTS-HD Master Audio supports bitrates up to 24.5Mbps, 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, and is ideal for HDMI Version 1.3 cables. This technology reproduces true-to-life audio the way the director intended. DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio also offers 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, but only supports bitrates up to 6Mbps.

BonusView with Picture-in-Picture (PIP)

This interactive player offers the ability to easily access (during live playback) additional Blu-ray content. Some BD-Video incorporates the PIP function in pre-selected scenes; BonusView enables you to display the secondary video source over the primary video.

This player utilizes a 216MHz/12-bit video D/A converter that provides high quality 4x over-sampling for 1080i/720p output. AVC-HD Media Compatibility

DivX is video compression software which enables high quality video to be compressed into very small files then downloaded onto CD-R or CD-RW and played back with very little loss of quality.

BD Wise

With other compatible Samsung components, BD Wise, which is an inter-connectivity function, enables you to either (On mode) output the original resolution of the DVD disc to the TV, or (Off mode) output a fixed resolution according to the resolution previously set.
