How does ozone work?
You may have smelled lightning-produced ozone before, you know that fishy smell ahead of a springtime rain? That’s it.

The ozone generator produces O by the interaction of electric current and oxygen. Ozone (O) contains 3 atoms of oxygen instead of the O you breathe. The third oxygen atom makes ozone extremely reactive, it can attach to other problematic molecules. When a pollutant encounters ozone it is oxidised and both the pollutant and the ozone molecules are destroyed, but eventually the O is restored to breathable O.
