The E620 is a solid clamshell; tri-band GSM, well designed, solidly built and with some latest functionality. Announced at the CeBit conference, the E620 has dual displays. The external one is a large squarish 96 x 96 pixels with a stupendous 265,000 colors while the main internal one is 256,000 colors. The main display is of course much larger at 176 x 220 pixels. The phone will also feature a megapixel camera. Several handsets have such cameras and even an accompanying flash. But what sets the E620 apart is that on both sides of the camera is a small flash, which Samsung says is a dual flash. Generally it is not the power of the flash that is the problem, but the ability of the battery to diffuse sufficient power for the display, as well as the flash. Having two flashes wont mean an extremely bright flash for the same reason. Best price at samstores.com
The E620 is a real winner when it comes to connectivity. It has USB, GPRS (class 10 for internet) as well as support for SyncML and Bluetooth radio technology for quick wireless transfers. Wi-Fi should not be considered since that requires a PDA type phone which is not the case with the E620. Other functions such as voice memo, organiser are also present. The E620 however will only have a MPEG4 player but no Mp3 or AAC player. Ringtones are also restricted to polyphonic tones only
The Samsung E620 expected to be available by the second quarter of 2005 in stock same day shipping, will be an excellent choice owing to a classical clamshell design along with light weight, small size and 2 beautifully clear displays.
